ROUND 5: LONE STAR LEGENDS SERIES "BATTLE AT THE BIG TOP"

The final round of the series gave all the drivers an opportunity to race on the 1/4 mile short track oval on the inside of the front straightaway of the Texas Motor Speedway. It was an exciting race as it drew the NASCAR crowed to the grandstands in between the Sprint Cup practices.

Nur Ali once again qualified in the 7th position and the race was fought very hard, but the best that he was able to pull off was a 5th place finish. A decent start to the 2014 race season, but the anticipation is for a good run during the Lone Star Legends Summer Thursday Night Stampede Series starting on June 19. Nur's next Legends race will take place back on the 1/5 mile Lil' TMS track on May 17.

Stay tuned for more updates to follow throughout the spring season!

ROUNDS 3 & 4: LONE STAR LEGENDS SERIES "BATTLE AT THE BIG TOP"

Due to the severe weather the evening before, Race #3 was taken place today and with the drastic track change, the car didn't feel too good for Nur Ali. His finish of 6th place was only one spot better than his original qualifying position.

Race #4 in the afternoon was a whole different story. With the temperature change from the morning race, the car was running solid and was very fast. Upon the drop of the green flag, Nur was able to gain three spots on the first lap. A third of the way through the race he was in third place and in contention for second, but due to a throttle cable failure, Nur's race was done and he had to settle for 8th place.

As we approach the final race of the Lone Star Legends Battle at the Big Top Championship Series tomorrow, Nur Ali currently sits in 6th position overall, dropping one position in the standings, thirty-four points behind the leader after Round 4.

ROUND 2: LONE STAR LEGENDS SERIES "BATTLE AT THE BIG TOP"

Just when the team thought the race car was done for yet another night, Nur showed his great talent, instinct and experience as a race car driver to save the race. Tonight when Nur went out for practice, the car was leaking brake fluid and had no brakes. The cause was a broken master cylinder which can be blamed on last night's incident. After qualifying in seventh position out of eight cars, and a couple of miserable first two laps of the race without brakes essentially, Nur thought he should just come in and call it a night wanting to avoid a disaster. He then realized when he triple pumped the brakes approaching each corner, he could make it work; so he opted to stay out on the track and take a chance. Nur excels at restarts, so a caution and then a green on the last lap were just what he needed. He used his skill to shoot from last place (eighth) to cross the finish line in third place as the crowd went wild!

Nur Ali is currently in 5th position overall, twelve points behind the leader after Round 2 in the Lone Star Legends Battle at the Big Top Championship Series, support race to the NASCAR weekend.

ROUND 1: LONE STAR LEGENDS SERIES "BATTLE AT THE BIG TOP"

Nur Ali competed in his first race of the 2014 season tonight with much disappointment. He qualified in 6th place on the 1/5 mile race track. At the drop of the green flag on the front straightaway, a trailing arm bolt and a shock on the right rear of his #99 Legends car broke. The race car will be repaired tonight for Nur to get back on the track tomorrow evening for the second round of the NASCAR weekend support race at Texas Motor Speedway.
