February 7, 2008: Central Florida Asian Community Buzzing about Ali’s Stock Car Debut at Daytona Print E-mail
The news is spreading quickly among Asian business owners and within the Asian social circles of central Florida. Nur Ali, the first professional stock car driver from the Asian Community, is set to compete in the upcoming ARCA RE/MAX Daytona 200 on Saturday, February 9, 2008, and the Asian community could not be more proud. Ali, born in Pakistan but raised in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, has become the first Asian to step into a stock car and represent Asians in the sport of stock car racing. Ali, a former A1GP World Cup and open-wheel veteran, has been racing professionally for 10 years and will be making his stock car debut in Daytona. By being the first Asian to make such a leap, Ali presents an opportunity to bring much needed diversity to the sport.

The 2008 ARCA RE/MAX schedule includes several key business and consumer markets where the Asian community is well represented. Daytona is one of those key markets and Asians in Central Florida could not be more excited about hosting Ali’s inaugural stock car race. With Ali’s participation in the ARCA RE/MAX series this season, Asians throughout the country will have the opportunity to witness first-hand the exhilaration that comes with stock car racing. Asian business owners will also now have a chance to support one of their own. “Ali has long been recognized within our community as a hero and excellent role model for our children. His accomplishments are of great magnitude and he is quickly becoming a living legend within our community. We are very proud of his pioneering achievements thus far and are pleased to announce our official support of Ali,” said Mr. Nizar Ali, President for the Greater Orlando Merchants Association (“GOMA”). Ali’s transition into stock car racing has been carefully crafted by Fluent Communications Worldwide, Inc. (“Fluent”), a North American-based ethno-cultural marketing firm. “Fluent is excited to work with Ali in his transition to stock car racing and looks forward to developing, marketing and promoting a brand that will benefit Fluent clients for years to come,” said Michael Forman, President, Fluent Sports and Entertainment Group. Ali plans to schedule several appearances in the central Florida region during the week leading up to the Daytona 200. More information about Nur Ali’s appearances can be obtained from his official website at www.alimotorsports.com
