October 8, 2003: Press Release No.002 - Nur Ali Announces Intention to Move to Infiniti Pro for 2004 Print E-mail
Only Southwest Asian-American Professional Race Car Driver competing in Motorsports

Dallas, Texas - Nur Ali, two-time Southwest Formula Mazda Regional Series Champion, has announced his intention to move to the Indy Racing League Infiniti Pro Series for 2004. The 28-year-old Ali is the only Pakistani professional driver on any auto racing circuit. His successes in the Formula Mazda Series and desire to become one of the top drivers in professional motorsports are the keys to this move.

Born in
Pakistan, Ali moved with his family in 1983 to Texas and graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. While at American University, Ali interned for U.S. Congressman Joe Barton, R-Texas. Soon after graduation he attended the Skip Barber Racing School and his racing career began. Ali has developed a loyal and rapidly expanding fan base in Texas. Ali has done numerous promotions with his current sponsors Budweiser and El Dorado Mazda. This weekend Ali will be signing autographs and the Ali Motorsports Formula Mazda will be on display at several locations around North Texas.

“Nur is an excellent young driver with tremendous drive and energy, and Ben E. Keith - Budweiser is proud to be a sponsor of Nur’s Southwest Formula Mazda Team,” explained Don Fischer, General Manager of Ben E. Keith Distributors, North Texas Division.

Ali has also received tremendous acclaim from his homeland in
Pakistan. In June 2003, Ali was invited to Los Angeles for a dinner with President Musharraf of Pakistan. He met with President Musharraf, his son Bilal Musharraf and Ashraf Qazi, Pakistan Ambassador to the United States. Pakistan television has filmed Ali for several segments.

“I am very pleased to be representing the Southwest Asian community in auto racing,” explained Nur Ali. “Given my success in the Formula Mazda Series this next step is an exciting and challenging one.” Xelerate Group, based in
Addison, Texas, is currently working on obtaining sponsors for the Ali Motorsports Infiniti Pro Series Car.

Ali Motorsports is based in
Euless, Texas, a Dallas suburb. Nur Ali, featured driver of Ali Motorsports, is professional auto racing’s only Southwest Asian-American driver. Ali was the 2001 and 2002 Southwest Formula Mazda Regional Series Champion and also races at Legend races. He has raced throughout the U.S. and Europe and attended the Skip Barber Racing School and competed in the Skip Barber Southern Race Series.
